MMM signs a medical equipment contract for a mother & child Hospital in Port Harcourt, Nigeria
About 290,000 mothers die from complications during pregnancy or childbirth each year. 99% of all deaths strike mothers in developing nations, most of which are in sub-Saharan Africa.
There is a direct correlation between maternal mortality and survival of newborns. An estimated three million infants die within their first months of life. One million newborns do not even survive the first day after birth. In 80% of these deaths, causes are premature birth, birth complications, and infections.
In the light of this we are very happy to report that HCI has signed a contract to supply the medical equipment for a mother & child hospital in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The multi-storey building offers 20,000 square meters, has been conventionally built and has a total of 150 beds.
